Alessandro Levi is an Investment Partner at Longview Innovation, an evergreen fund investing in early-stage technologies and startups with promising industrial and consumer applications that can transform billions of lives. Previously he was a Partner at deep tech fund Prime Movers Lab, focusing on industries such as robotics, transportation, telecommunications, semiconductor, computing, and climate tech. At Prime Movers Lab, he worked for the early-stage fund ($250M) and the Growth Fund ($500M), investing in several companies. Before joining the firm, he was the founder and CEO of Semplus Corp., a pressure sensor display company in Palo Alto, CA. Alessandro raised several million dollars from angels, institutional and strategic investors such as Daimler Mercedes-Benz. He has extensive experience in business development, fundraising, partnerships, intellectual property, and operations.
Alessandro is passionate about mentorship and helping young entrepreneurs. He’s an active member of Silicon Valley’s tech community, donating his time and attention to Plug and Play Tech Center, an accelerator, and StartX, the founders’ community at Stanford University. Prior to Semplus, Alessandro was a researcher at Stanford University’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering, where he developed smart organic electronic skins for robots.
He holds four patents in the fields of human-machine interfaces, manufacturing, and touch sensors and is a reviewer for several peer-review journals. Alessandro hails from Milan, Italy, and holds a Ph.D. in Innovative Technologies of Information & Communication Engineering and Robotics from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and the Italian Institute of Technology. In his personal life, Alessandro enjoys skiing, tennis, golf, soccer, and trading.
